(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – The Northumberland detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) dealt with 330 incidents over this four day period, here are some examples:
Oct 3:
At 7:00am a tractor-trailer driver reported being side-swiped by a black GMC pickup truck while travelling westbound on Hwy 401 in Port Hope. The suspect truck did not stop and fled the scene. After investigation, police identified the suspect driver and charged the 26 year old Oshawa, Ontario man with Failing to Remain at the scene of an accident. He faces a December court date. No-one was injured as a result of the collision.
Report of a break-in at Church Key Brewery on County Rd 38 in Trent Hills sometime overnight. The culprit(s) forced open a rear door and stole five cases of Northumberland Hills Brewing Co” beer and a quantity of cash. Investigation ongoing.
At 6:00pm police received reports of a possible impaired driver on Percy St in Colborne. Witnesses reported the blue Volvo driving on a sidewalk and almost causing a collision with another vehicle. An officer located the car on Telephone Rd driving in the oncoming lane. The car was stopped and the driver was found to be impaired. He was arrested and taken to the Campbellford detachment for further tests. As a result of these tests
