Dec 27:
Police responded to a family dispute at a Cramahe Twp home at 3:17am involving a father and adult son. The son was removed at the request of the family and was held by police until sober. No charges were laid at the request of family members.
A Port Hope resident reported being defrauded of $1,700 by a male who offered to buy her car from a Kijiji advertisement. He requested the car be shipped to the United States but that she would have to pay the shipping and border taxes first. The resident then received what appeared to be an official email from Pay Pal advising her that the agreed upon amount for the sale was being held in trust by them until she paid the taxes. The seller made the money transfer via Western Union and then contacted Pay Pal to have the funds released only to find out the email was fraudulent and there were no funds.
