At tonight’s (08Feb2016) budget presentation it was revealed that town staff have allegedly cut over $700,000 from the initial draft of the budget, and we are on track for a only a 12.83% increase. Taxes on a $225,000 home would be over $5,000/year.

Public Works head, kelly church, admitted we have no reserves for roads. He did this without shame as if it was somebody else’s fault. Despite having the highest tax rate in Ontario, there literally is no money to fix our crumbling roads, sewers, drains, etc. etc. What’s even worse, they have no plan on addressing this multi-million dollar deficit.

Don’t worry, despite our town literally falling apart and no plan to fix it, kelly church will be getting a raise along with all other town staff. In order to stall and not fix things, kelly church wants to spend $100,000 on video recording our sewers. This way he has the excuse “I’m waiting for the camera work to be done..” before he starts doing his job. How about spending that $100,000 on fixing the other storm drains that are ready to cave in and are currently road hazards. No, that won’t happen, they will spend $100,000 of your money to stall, because kelly church can’t figure out which streets are in desperate need of repair.

Now if you haven’t lost faith in kelly church yet, you might be alarmed to find out that basic math seems to be beyond his pay-grade, which is about $100,000/year. Apparently he can’t figure out how to do the math to figure out if switching to LED street lights would save money. Any grade 9 student could do the math in under a minute if they had access to the data kelly church does. Since kelly church is apparently mathtarded, we have to wait until someone gets back to him, just more excuses not to do his job.
