North Huron council removed all Press and Public questions from council meetings and introduced strict delegation guidelines to ensure the Public had no chance to confront council by asking them a question on the record. They claim they get “blindsided” by tough questions that embarrass them, and that is reason enough to eliminate all Public input.

Council has decided to be generous and is going to allow the Public to ask them questions for a couple hours this year. That’s right, in North Huron we are only “allowed” a 2-3 hour window this year to ask council a question. This narrow window of opportunity should be used to fix our town and hold council to account, as council’s responses will be video recorded whether they like it or not.
