(TAY TOWNSHIP, ON) – Officers from the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) seized drugs after stopping a motor vehicle in Tay Township. On May 2, 2015 at 8:38p.m Officers responded to a call of an erratic driver who was speeding and swerving within the lane on Highway 12 in Tay Township.
The vehicle was subsequently stopped on Highway 93 in the Town of Midland. Further investigation revealed the presence of marihuana in the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation Nikita SHAVROV, 19 years of age, of Penetanguishene was charged with possession of marihuana under 30 grams, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.
The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, in Midland, on June 11, 2015.
