(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) West Region (WR) Highway Safety Division (HSD) responded to a motor vehicle collision involving two tractor trailer transport trucks.
On the morning of November 27, 2014, a transport truck was travelling east bound on Highway 401 near Wellington Road, in the City of London, Ontario, when it struck another transport truck travelling eastbound in an adjacent traffic lane.
The offending transport truck failed to stop at the scene of the collision and continued eastbound. Although the involved vehicles subsequently stopped at a service centre out of the Middlesex County area, and police were contacted, the driver of the offending transport truck did not remain.
As result of the OPP WR HSD investigation, Nickolay KUVIARZIN, age 56, from Vaughn, Ontario, has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) with: fail to remain, commercial vehicle – follow too closely, and change lane – not in safety.
The accused is scheduled to appear in a London court to answer the charges.
