(PORT HOPE, ON) – On October 4, 2014 at about 8:00pm, Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received complaints regarding a possible impaired driver on Highway 401 in the Port Hope area.
Officers located the vehicle and noted the same erratic driving that caused members of the public to call police. When approaching the vehicle, police could see open liquor within the car. The male driver showed signs of being impaired by alcohol and was arrested. He was taken to the Cobourg detachment for further tests.
As a result of these tests, Nelson BROWN age 50 of Pembroke faces the following charges:
1) Impaired Care&Control of motor vehicle
2) Care&Control while over 80mg
3) Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily accessible
4) G2 driver with Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) above zero
BROWN was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on October 22, 2014.
