Neil EMERY – Drunk Driving, Drive While Suspended

(HALIBURTON, ON) – On November 9, 2015, officers from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE check at Horseshoe Lake Road and Bethel Road in Minden Hills Township.

At approximately 4:30pm officers stopped a motor vehicle being driven by a 44 year old male from Minden. After a speaking to the driver it was determined that the male’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol and he was arrested.

Neil EMERY, 44 years old of Minden has been charged with the following:

· Drive While Impaired by Alcohol Section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)

· Drive with more than 80mgs of Alcohol in Blood, Section 253(1)(b) CC

· Drive while under suspension Section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

· Fail to have Insurance Card Section 3(1) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA)

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Minden on January 6, 2016.
