(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Tuesday April 09, 2013, shortly after 3 p.m. a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) officer on patrol on Hwy 7 south of St.Marys observed a motor vehicle incident that had the potential to be a major crash.
The officer was driving his marked police cruiser West bound on Hwy 7 when he observed an East bound Pontiac Pursuit sedan pass another East bound vehicle. The passing car was unable to complete the pass safely as there was not enough space between the police cruiser and the car that was being passed. All vehicles involved had to break hard and swerve onto the shoulders to avoid a collision.
The 23 year old male driver from Cambridge operating the Pontiac, has been charged with Careless Driving.
