Nail Found In Halloween Candy

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) from the City of Kawartha Lakes is reminding parents to carefully check all their children’s treats collected on Halloween.

Our detachment has received information that a finishing nail was located in a chocolate 2” size treat that was collected on Halloween from Little Britain. The chocolate bar rapper had a tiny hole in the outside and a finishing nail was imbedded in the contents. A careful grandparent noticed the hole and investigated. Nobody was injured and police are continuing to investigate.

Parents take the time to check all the treats and talk to your children about checking wrappers for rips or holes. If a disturbed wrapper is found do not eat the contents.

Anyone having information on this crime or any others is asked to contact the City of Kawartha Lakes OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Information can also be reported anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or by going to www.khcs.ca and submitting an anonymous tip online.
