On the 1st of March 2014, at 3:30pm, a 39 year old Kitchener man was taken to hospital after being ejected from his snowmobile and breaking his leg. The man was operating a snowmobile on the Ontario Federation of snowmobile club trail 5-72 near Hutchison Rd and Weimar Line in Wellesley Township. Police, Firefighters and Paramedics were called to the scene. The male was transported to hospital for treatment. As a result of the Police investigation, it was discovered that the man did not have a trail permit and did not have insurance for the snowmobile. The man has been charged under the Trespass to property act with Trespassing – enter premises when entry prohibited. In addition, he was charged under the Motorized Snow Vehicles Act with Drive motorized snow vehicle (MSV) – no insurance, Careless driving, Drive MSV – trail permit not issued, Fail to display evidence of trail permit, Fail to notify change of ownership, Improper muffler.
