MOTORIST ALERTS OPP TO POSSIBLE IMPAIRED DRIVER WHICH LEADS TO DRUG CHARGES

(GEORGIAN BAY TOWNSHIP,On)-Members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched at 3:31am September 19, 2014 after a motorist reported to the OPP Communications Centre a possible impaired driver north bound on Highway 400 in Georgian Bay Township.
The suspect passenger car was stopped near Twelve Mile Bay Road and officers conducted a roadside investigation which lead to the lone male driver being taken into police custody.
A quantity of Canadian currency, a substance that would appear to be Crack Cocaine along with some person property was seized from the vehicle during the course of the officers investigation.
As a result of the investigation, Jordan SHEARD 20 years of Springwater Township was arrested and charged with the following offenses-Possession of a Schedule 1 substance- Cocaine contrary to section 4(1) and also Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of Trafficking- Cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.He was further charged with Possession Property Obtained by Crime over $5000.00 in Canada.
The accused was also wanted by Barrie Police Service in relation to a criminal investigation in the City of Barrie.
He was turned over to Barrie Police Service and was held for a bail hearing and will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Midland at a future date.
