(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a motorcycle collision at a Highway 59, South Walsingham, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Sunday, May 22, 2016 at approximately 12: 17 p.m., OPP and Norfolk County Paramedics responded to a collision involving a motorcyclist and deer.
Through the course of investigation, it was determined that a 42-year-old male was operating a motorcycle on Highway 59 between 1st Concession Road and 2nd Concession Road when a he collided with a deer that ran from the side of roadway.
As a result, the driver was ejected from his motorcycle and suffered non-life threatening injuries. He was taken to a local area hospital for further treatment.
“Police are urging all motorcycle operators to expect the unexpected. Officers that attended the collision were amazed that the driver suffered injuries that were non-life threatening. We are urging all operators to be bright, be seen but more importantly, be safe when out riding.” – Constable Ed Sanchuk, Norfolk County OPP.
