(KINCARDINE TWP, ON) – On August 18, 2013 at 7:39 pm, the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Bruce County Road 23 and Ackert Lane, Kincardine Township. Officers arrived to find that a Black Infiniti and a Blue Yamaha YFZ R6 were both travelling north bound on Bruce County Road 23. The Infiniti turned onto Ackert Lane as the motorcycle was passing and the two vehicles collided.
The motorcycle rider, a 19 year old man from the Municipality of Kincardine, was airlifted to Victoria Hospital in London with serious injuries.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit is assisting the South Bruce OPP with this investigation.
Bruce County Road 23 was closed between Concession 5 and Concession 7, Kincardine Township for the safety of emergency responders. The road has since re opened to traffic.
