Motorcycle Collision Update – Deceased Identified

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment investigated an incident at a Spooky Hollow Road, Charlotteville, Norfolk County, address.

On Saturday, August 11, 2018 at approximately 2:05 p.m., OPP and Norfolk County Paramedic Services responded to a collision involving a motorcyclist.

Through the course of the investigation, it has been determined that a white and blue coloured motorcycle was travelling south west along Spooky Hollow Road with other motorcycle riders when the driver left the roadway. The motorcycle entered the west side of the road and collided with a metal gate and tree.

As a result of the collision, 38-year-old Phillip E. HOWARD of London, Ontario suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators assisted with the investigation.

Spooky Hollow Road was closed between Front Road and Front Road of Normandale for approximately 6 hours to allow for further investigation.

Speed and alcohol is NOT being considered as contributing factors.

The investigation is continuing.
