MOTORCYCLE COLLISION CLAIMS THE LIFE OF ONE FEMALE DRIVER

(COCHRANE, ON) -On August 9, 2014 at approximately 11:48 am, members of the Cochrane OPP detachment and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a single motorcycle collision on Highway 11, Shackleton Township, east of the town of Fauquier, Ontario.

The police investigation revealed that prior to the collision, the female motorcycle driver was travelling eastbound on highway 11 on her Harley Davidson motorcycle when she lost control and struck a guard rail on the south side of the highway.

As a result of the collision, 52 year old female driver, Cecile DUFRESNE from Kapusaksing, Ontario succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Highway 11 was shut down upon police arrival and reopened in later afternoon. OPP Forensic Services and Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) attended the scene as part of the police investigation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
