Elgin County OPP was called to the scene of a motor vehicle collision earlier this morning May 26th, 2015. The collision occurred around 8:10am on Highway #3 just east of Centennial Ave, Central Elgin.
A motorcycle being operated by a 64 year old St. Thomas man was travelling east on highway # 3. At that time a school bus was exiting a private drive on the south side of Highway #3 turning to go west towards St. Thomas. The bus travelled in front of the motorcycle which struck the rear portion of the bus.
The driver of the motorcycle was thrown from the bike and sustained moderate non- life threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital via land ambulance. The driver of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet.
The driver of the bus, a 65 year old St. Thomas man was not injured in the collision, he was wearing his seatbelt. There were no students on board at the time of the collision.
Police continue to investigate the collision.
