(CHATSWORTH, ON) – Between 5:00 a.m. on Friday, November 7 and 7:15 a.m. on Monday, November 10, 2014, Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 26 motor vehicle collisions throughout their jurisdiction. Nine (9) of those collision were deer related.
On Saturday, November 8th at approximately 10:00 a.m., police investigated a collision on Hwy. 10 near Road 130 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands involving 4 vehicles. Grey County Emergency Services (EMS) and the Grey Highlands Fire Department attended. A 45 year old female passenger from Brampton, Ontario was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle, Curt Felix STEPHEN, 38, was charged with Careless Driving.
Three other drivers were charged with careless driving over the weekend.
As we head into the winter months, the OPP is reminding motorists to take the time to prepare themselves and their vehicles for safe winter driving.
Slow down and adjust your driving to the current road and weather conditions and leave extra space between vehicles. Stay alert, focus on the road, and avoid sudden braking, accelerating or steering.
