Just before noon yesterday, police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Grand Avenue East at Michener Road.
A 75-year-old Chatham woman was traveling eastbound on Grand Avenue East when she turned left into a private driveway in front of a 55-year-old Chatham man traveling westbound on a motorcycle. The man tried to take evasive action to avoid the collision and laid his bike down striking the woman’s vehicle.
The man was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with non life-threatenig injuries. Total damage was estimated at $5000.
The woman was charged with making a turn not in safety.
