Motor Vehicle Collision – Fatality

(KENORA, ON) The Trans-Canada Highway was closed temporarily on Tuesday, September 24th 2013 at around 11:30 am due to a motor vehicle collision East of Stewart Lake. The Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to the scene of a single motor vehicle collision at approximately 10:30 am. It was reported that a sport utility vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver, a 60 year old Dryden man was the lone occupant of the vehicle. He was airlifted to Lake of the Woods District Hospital and treated for minor injuries. The highway was closed to allow the helicopter to land and reopened shortly after.
