Late Monday evening the Barrie Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Grove St. E. and Duckworth St. Upon arrival the officers discovered that the accident involved a single motor vehicle and a motorized scooter. Investigation revealed that the car had been westbound on Grove St. W. while the scooter was eastbound also on Grove St .E. As both entered the Duckworth St. intersection it appears that the scooter crosssed over into the oncoming lane where it was struck by the car. A 54 year old Barrie male was taken to Royal Victoria Hospital for leg injuries. The investigation continues and anyone who may have witnessed this incident is urged to contact the Barrie Police Service.
