A Uniform Patrol officer came across a pick-up truck that had been driven into a hydro pole on Anne Street North. The truck was demolished and the pole had been severed off at the base. The driver had obvious signs of impairment and was arrested for impaired driving. He was taken to the station for breath tests which were almost 3 times the legal limit.
When the officer spoke to the owner of the vehicle, it was learned that the driver did not have permission to have the vehicle. The 29 year old Barrie male was charged with impaired driving, having more than 80 mg of alcohol in his blood and taking the auto without the owner’s consent.
