Motor Vehicle Collision

At approximately 8:25 pm, a transport truck leaving the area of the grain elevators attempted to make a wide right turn from 1st Avenue West onto 10th Street West. As the transport truck completed the turn the trailer portion hooked onto a vehicle that was stopped beside the truck in the right lane. The vehicle was dragged around the corner of the intersection where it was forced up into a snowbank. The transport truck proceeded westbound without knowing that the accident had occurred. The transport truck was stopped a short time later by police. The elderly male driver of the other vehicle was transported by ambulance to the Grey Bruce Health Center for medical concerns where he was treated and released. The vehicle was towed due to the extentisive damage. The driver of the transport truck faces a charge under the Highway Traffic Act for causing the collision.
