On Sunday, August 11, 2013 approximately 8:30 am members of the Kenora detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended at the scene of a head on collision between a car and pick up truck. The collision occurred west of Kenora on Highway 17 in the area of Inglis Lake Road. The driver of the westbound pick up truck was taken to Lake of The Woods District Hospital by ambulance for treatment of non life threatening injuries as a result of the collision. The driver of the eastbound automobile was uninjured. The driver of the car, 18 year old Michael FISETTE of Winnipeg Manitoba has been charged with Careless Driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. He is to appear in Kenora Court on October 10, 2013 to answer to the charge. Highway 17 was closed for approximately one hour as a result of the collision.
