Morgan PATTERSON – Drunk Driving

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Friday November 14, 2014, around 6 p.m. a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was proceeding to a motor vehicle collision. The officer was driving on Hwy 7 south of line 26 when a south bound minivan was observed veering into the north bound lane forcing northbound traffic onto the east shoulder to avoid being struck by the minivan.

The minivan was pulled over by the officer and the driver who displayed signs of impairment was arrested. The driver was transported to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville, where two Intoxilyzer breath tests indicated that he had consumed more than the legal limit of alcohol.

Morgan PATTERSON (62) of Stratford has been charged with, “driving with more than 80 mgs. of alcohol in blood”, and “driving while ability impaired”, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to attend at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on December 15, 2014, to answer to these charges. He was issued a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
