(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On April 1, 2017 at approximately 7:25 a.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Laird Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a female driving a 2015 Mazda 3 travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 138 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
65-year-old Mary FERGUSON of Toronto has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 3, 2017. Her driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
Shortly thereafter at approximately 9:44 a.m. police were still monitoring traffic at this same location. An officer observed a female driving a 2015 Lexus travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at approximately 138 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
41-year-old Qiaohong LI of London has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on May 3, 2017. Her driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
