Motor Vehicle Collision in Chatham CK15008217

Around 7:30 a.m. this morning, emergency crews responded to a three vehicle collision on St. Clair Street near Regency Drive.

A school bus was travelling southbound on St. Clair Street when it stopped for traffic. A van failed to stop and rear ended a car that was stopped behind the bus causing the car to hit the bus.

There were 18 students on the bus at the time of the collision. No one on the bus was injured.

The driver of the car, a 63-year-old Port Lambton woman was transported via ambulance to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with minor injuries.

The driver of the van, a 75-year-old Chatham man was charged with careless driving.

Total damage was estimated at $30,000.

Motor Vehicle Collision in Blenheim CK15008224

Shortly after 8:30 a.m. this morning, emergency crews responded to a two vehicle collision on Middle Line near Allison Line.

A van was travelling on Middle Line towards Blenheim when the driver lost control, crossed the centre line and was struck by an on-coming vehicle.

A 5-year-old boy sustained serious injuries and was transported via ambulance to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical attention.

Total damage was estimated at $15,000.

Middle Line between Allison Line and Industrial Road remains closed as officers continue their investigation.
