(LEEDS, ON.) – Officers of the Leeds Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are continuing investigations into impaired drivers over the past week.
On the 20th of August 2016 at about 4:00 PM O.P.P officers responded to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on County Road 5. The 61 year old driver, Ivan CAMPBELL of Elizabethtown-Kitley Township was located and faces a charge of Having Care or Control of his vehicle. His court appearance is scheduled for the 23rd September 2016 in Brockville.
A second driving complaint on the 26th August 2016 at about 5:20 PM on Highway 401 in Front of Yonge Township has an Ottawa man facing an impaired driving charge. Jason CARROLL, 31 years old is scheduled to appear in Brockville court on the 23rd September 2016.
A third incident stemmed from an occurrence in Rideau Lakes Township on the 28th August 2016 at about 11:00 PM. Cynthia PAYNE , 37 years old, of the same Township, faces a charge of Having Care or Control of her vehicle. Her court appearance is scheduled for the 16th September 2016 in Brockville.
While Leeds OPP officers do increase their number of R.I.D.E. stops over the holidays, they are reminding drivers that R.I.D.E. stops are carried out throughout the year, throughout the province as part of the OPP’s Provincial Traffic Safety Program (PTSP).
