More Impaired Drivers Busted

(PERRY TWP, ON) – On Wednesday February 2, 2017 at approximately 12:45 a.m. the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a report of an intoxicated driver on Highway 592.

Police located the female, Shannon KUTT, 21 of Huntsville Ontario and arrested and charged her with the following offences:

• Driving while ability impaired, contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)

• Operate a motor vehicle without insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CDSA)

• Use plate not authorized for vehicle, contrary to section 12(1)(a) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

• Drive motor vehicle – no licence, contrary to section 32(1) HTA

• Drive motor vehicle, no validation on plate, contrary to section 7(c)(i) HTA

The accused was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday March 9, 2017 in Sundridge Ontario.

POLICE ARREST MALE DRIVER

(Armour TWP, ON) – On Tuesday February 7, 2017 at approximately 6:30 p.m. the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were patrolling Highway 11 in Armour Township. Police stopped a southbound vehicle and subsequently arrested the driver for driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC).

The driver, James OROSZ 61 was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on 09 March 2017 in Sundridge Ontario.

POLICE INVESTIGATE THEFT OF GENERATOR

(ARMOUR TWP, ON) – On Wednesday February 8, 2017 the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the theft of a 7500 watt Rigid generator. The theft occurred sometime between January 25, 2017 and February 4, 2017 at a Berriedale residence.

Police are continuing to investigate and any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for this theft should immediately contact the Ontario Provincial Police at 1-888-310-1122 or their nearest police authority.
