More Impaired Drivers Busted

(Peterborough County, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were active across Peterborough County initiating R.I.D.E. programs in an effort to remove impaired drivers from our roadways.

Since the Festive R.I.D.E. launch on November 21, 2016, the Peterborough OPP have conducted 28 spot checks, issued 4 warn range licence suspensions and charged 4 people with Criminal Code Driving Offences related to alcohol consumption.

Jonathan HOLEK (age 28) of Peterborough, ON charged with:

Impaired Driving

Driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood

Novice driver with blood alcohol concentration (BAC) above zero

Miranda POPOVIC (age 24) of Omemee, ON charged with:

Driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood

Luke William GRILLS (age 23) of Peterborough, ON charged with:

Driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood

The Peterborough OPP reminds motorists to plan ahead when consuming alcohol use a designated driver, utilized a cab or public transit or stay overnight. Any amount of alcohol or drugs can impact your ability to make sound judgements.
