More Impaired Drivers Busted

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On December 3rd, 2016, at approximately 1:30am officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting Festive R.I.D.E. in the area of King Street and Division Street in Trenton. Officers stopped a motor vehicle by operated by a 36 year old female from Trenton.

During the stop it was also determined that the driver of the motor vehicle had been drinking.

Melissa THORNE, 36, of Trenton has been charged with:

Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood – Criminal Code of Canada 253(1)(b) Criminal Code of Canada

Possession of a Schedule II substance- Cannabis Marihuana – under 30grams Controlled Drug and Substance Act 4(1)

The female was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice Belleville on the 22nd, of December, 2016.

(QUINTE WEST, ON) — On December 3rd, 2016, at approximately 3:45pm officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information regarding a traffic complaint on Old Highway 2, Quinte West.

Officers located the vehicle on Old Highway 2 and during the investigation the officer determined that driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol.

Hannah RANKIN, 24, of Ottawa has been charged with:

Driving While Ability Impaired – 253(1)(a) Criminal Code of Canada

Care or Control Over 80 mgs. – 253(1)(b) Criminal Code of Canada

The female was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice Belleville on December 22nd, 2016.

Officers from the Quinte West Detachment will continue to monitor area roads and motorists can expect to see an increase in R.I.D.E. programs during the Festive season in an effort to remove impaired drivers from area roads and ensure roads are safe for everyone to travel on.
