More Drunk Drivers Charged

(FORT FRANCES, ON) – On March 31, 2017 at 11:38 am, officers of the Rainy River District Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a traffic complainant on a motor vehicle in the Town of Fort Frances.

Officers located the motor vehicle in Pithers Point Park. The driver, Jaden TUESDAY, age 25 years of Nicickousemenecaning First Nation, was arrested and transported to OPP Detachment for breath tests. The vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for the mandatory 7 days. The driver was subsequently charged with,

-Driving with More than 80mgs. of Alcohol in Blood contrary to section 253 (1)(a) of the Criminal Code

-Having Over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.

-Assault Causing Bodily Harm contrary to section 267(b) of the Criminal Code

-Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle section 249(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

-Obstruct Peace Officer section 129(a) of the Criminal Code

Tuesday was held in custody and appeared in Fort Frances Court April 3, 2017

Also on the 1st of April 2017 at 4:10 hours, officers received a report of a suspicious vehicle on the 500 Block of Nelson Avenue in the Town of Fort Frances.

Officers located a motor vehicle and upon during the investigation arrested the driver. The driver, Yvette BIG GEORGE, age 38 years, of Fort Frances was transported to OPP Detachment for tests. Again the vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days. The driver was charged with,

-Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle While Impaired contrary to section 253(1)(a)

-Having over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 milliliters of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) contrary to the Criminal Code
