Mitchell Joseph KING – 181 in a 100

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) West Region Highway Enforcement Team have charged a 19-year-old male with stunt driving after police stopped a motor vehicle at a Highway 403, County of Brant, Ontario address.

On Friday, August 21, 2015 at approximately 7:19 p.m., police observed a motor vehicle that appeared to be travelling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Highway 403 at Maple Avenue. The motor vehicle ran through radar and recorded a reading of 181 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone.

Police have charged 19-year-old Mitchell Joseph KING of London, Ontario with stunt driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

“The OPP will continue focused patrols for high risk driving. Driving safety is everyone’s responsibility and it starts before the vehicle is put into drive” comments Constable Ed Sanchuk, Brant County OPP.

OPP are reminding all motorists that the minimum fine for Stunt Driving, if convicted is $2,000 and an automatic drivers licence suspension for 7 days.

He is to appear in Provincial Court, Brantford, Ontario at a later date to answer to the charge.
