(NORTH MIDDLESEX, ON) – A motorcycle driver has been charged with impaired care and control.
On April 3, 2015, at approximately 9:02 p.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a blue Suzuki motorcycle stopped on the shoulder of Elginfield Road near Charlton Road. Police stopped to check on the male driver, who was the only occupant of the vehicle.
It was determined the driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening device was administered, and the driver registered a “fail”. He was placed under arrest, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for further breath tests, which revealed he had consumed more than twice the legal limit of alcohol.
As a result of the investigation, Mitchell HARRETT, age 22, from London, Ontario, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada, with care or control over 80 milligrams.
The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear, and is scheduled to answer to the charge in a London court on May 19, 2015.
