(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment has charged a 22-year-old male after police were called to a Highway 6, Haldimand County, Ontario address.
On Sunday, May 29, 2016 at approximately 1:16 a.m., an alert motor vehicle operator contacted police to report a male walking northbound on Highway 6.
Through the course of investigation, it was determined that a motor vehicle was travelling northbound on Highway 6 near Concession 9 of Walpole, when the driver had to take evasive action in order to avoid a male walking down the roadway. The male was wearing a dark t-shirt and tan shorts which made him very difficult to see by the motoring public.
Police arrived on scene and located the male walking down the roadway.
As a result of investigation, police charged 22-year-old Mitchell GREEN of Six Nations of The Grand River First Nations with being intoxicated in a public place contrary to the Liquor Licence Act.
He was subsequently taken home and released to a relative.
