(Verulam Township, CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to assist with a missing woman, Friday August 12th, 2016 just before 3:00pm.
OPP members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment crime unit, Central Region ERT, Canine Unit, and Marine Unit after locating the woman’s vehicle on Walmac Shore’s Road in Verulam Township began a search of the surrounding area and the waters of Pigeon Lake.
Shortly after 11:30am on August 13th, 2016, OPP members of the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit located the body of the woman in Pigeon Lake near the shore on Fire Route 72, Trent Lakes,ON.
City of Kawartha Lakes OPP members are assisting the Office of the Chief Coroner in this death investigation foul play is not suspected.
