(THUNDER BAY, ON) On Tuesday, January 20, 2015 officers from the Thunder Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a request from Brandon Police Service (Manitoba) to assist in locating a male that went missing from the Brandon area.
Officers located a vehicle belonging to the male along the Silver Falls Road near the Kaministiquia River. OPP conducted a search of the immediate area but were unable to locate the male. Police believe the male may have entered the water. Foul play is not suspected.
The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (OPP USRU) have been contacted and will be conducting a search of the Kaministiquia River on Thursday, January 22, 2015.
The investigation is continuing and further information will be released as it becomes available.
