On October 31st at approximately 1:40pm, a female who was in the custody of police, escaped from Grand River hospital. The female had been arrested earlier for shoplifting and was brought to hospital by police while in custody after complaining of stomach pains. The female was located a short time after she fled in the medical center at 18 Pine Street across from the hospital. There were no injuries or risk to public safety. The female is a 34 year old Cambridge woman and is being held in custody facing further charges of escape lawful custody and theft and possession of stolen property.
