(Alfred-Plantagenet, ON) On the 26th of June 2013, Hawkesbury OPP officers Luc Denommee and Jean-Francois Leclerc were sent to the scene of a fishing boat on fire on the Nation River in Wendover. The fishing boat was floating on the river with no occupants with the center bench on fire. The Alfred-Plantagenet Fire Department also responded and put out the fire.
The investigation revealed that the fire burned the cushion seat on the middle bench of the 14ft aluminum fishing boat. The owner of the vessel was not found and no one claimed the boat at the time of the news release. The cause of the fire is unknown.
