Miracle On Wingham Streets – Is The War Really Over?

For nearly a decade there has been a battle to have Wingham streets maintained to no avail, until now. Today a company is in Wingham filling cracks in our streets with what smells like hot tar. While some of you may think this is an insignificant victory, it will greatly increase the life of our streets, saving us millions. If you think this maintenance isn’t important, check out Carling Terrace by the church to see what one tiny crack can turn into if ignored for over a decade.

What’s next for Wingham? Will students be able to use the sidewalks to get to school in the winter? Will Hanna Bridge have both pedestrian paths cleared like in the old days, when council and town staff thought the health and safety of those on Bristol Terrace were worth protecting?

The next council meeting is Tuesday night at Wingham town hall.
