Minor Injuries Sustained When Vehicle Strikes Tree

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Tuesday November 15, 2011, shortly after 1 p.m., Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to a single motor vehicle collision on Line 5 (the River Road) just West of St.Marys.

Investigation revealed that a small pickup truck was being driven west bound on Line 5 when the driver lost control of the vehicle, veered off the roadway and drove down an embankment where it struck a tree. The seventeen year old male driver and the sixteen year old female passenger, both from the Township of Perth South, sustained minor injuries. The driver has been charged with “careless driving” and is to appear in Stratford Court on December 06, 2011 to answer to this charge. The vehicle sustained major damage and the Township of Perth South Public Works Department attended to remove tree debris from the roadway.
