(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – On November 29, 2016, at approximately 9:21 p.m., the Middlesex County OPP were conducting a Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on the eastbound Highway 401 off-ramp at Wellington Road, in the City of London, Ontario.
The motor vehicle, a beige Honda car, exited Highway 401 and entered the R.I.D.E. checkpoint.
Officers determined that the 37-year-old male driver had been drinking alcohol. A roadside screening device was administered, and the driver registered a “fail.” He was placed under arrest and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for further breath testing.
As a result of the police investigation, Michael MITRO, from London, Ontario, has been charged with driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to answer the charge in a London court on January 4, 2017.
