(INGERSOLL, ON.). – On August 2, 2013, at approximately 10:47a.m., Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.) officers observed a Chevrolet Cavalier, yellow in colour squealing tires in front of the Ingersoll O.P.P. detachment.
Shortly after, police initiated a pursuit with this vehicle, which was later discontinued due to safety concerns.
Through investigation, the driver and vehicle were identified. The vehicle was strategically followed and the operator located.
Police have charged 45 year old Michael KEENAN of Ingersoll under the Criminal Code of Canada with:
Dangerous Operation – Motor Vehicle
Flight from police officer
Drive Disqualified
Obstruct/Resist Peace Officer
Mischief Under $5000.00
The male has also been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
Drive motor vehicle not equipped with an approved ignition interlock device while prohibited from doing so
Race a motor vehicle
Stunt Driving
The male is being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
