(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Friday September 30, 2011 shortly before 11 a.m. an OPP officer on patrol observed a fast moving Chevrolet Cavalier traveling north bound on Hwy. 23 through Kirkton. The vehicle was stopped for speeding and while the officer was talking to the driver, a strong odor of burnt marihuana was detected inside the car. The officer searched the car and located marihuana as well as drug paraphernalia. The vehicle was also found to be un-insured.
Michael Hunt (36) of Strathroy was charged for being in possession of schedule II cannabis Marihuana – under 30 grams, for operating a motor vehicle without insurance and for speeding. He is scheduled to attend Stratford Court on October 31, 2011 to answer to these charges. His vehicle was towed from the scene.
