(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On November 20, 2015 at approximately 7:15 p.m., a Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer observed a 1989 BMW on Tower Street near Belsyde Avenue, Fergus make several unsafe lane changes and stopped the vehicle. Police spoke with the male driver and determined that the vehicle was uninsured and the licence plates were not authorized for the vehicle. There was no muffler and it had improper headlights.
22-year-old Michael HONTAR of Wellington North Township is charged with;
Operate motor vehicle-no insurance-Compulsory Automobile insurance Act
Drive motor vehicle-perform stunt-Highway Traffic Act (H.T.A.)
Drive without proper headlights – motor vehicle-H.T.A.
Use plate not authorized for vehicle-H.T.A.
No muffler-motor vehicle-H.T.A.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on January 6, 2016.
