(LAMBTON, ON) – On Tuesday January 24th, 2017 at just after 10:00 p.m., the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was dispatched to a two vehicle motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Lakeshore Road and Aberarder Line, Town of Plympton-Wyoming.
Lambton OPP along with Lambton Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Plympton-Wyoming Fire Department responded to the location and upon arrival located two vehicles, with extensive damage, in the northwest ditch of the intersection.
Investigation determined that a Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound on Arberarder Line when the driver disobeyed a posted stop sign at the intersection. The Toyota entered into the intersection striking a northbound Ford 500. As a result of the collision, the driver of the Toyota and the passenger of the Ford were transported to hospital by EMS with non-life threatening injuries. During the course of the investigation, officers formed the opinion that the driver of the Toyota was impaired due to the consumption of alcoholic beverages. The driver was arrested and subsequent breath testing resulted in readings over the legal limit.
