(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – Officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated an assault that occurred early Saturday August 20, 2016, in the Bethany area. The victims, a 19 year old male and 18 year old female were known to the accused.
Charged with the following offences is 19 year old Michael CURRIE of Cavan-Monaghan:
Assault contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
Assault Causing Bodily Harm contrary to section 267(b) CCC
Driving While Disqualified contrary to section 259(4) CCC
Fail to Comply with Probation contrary to section 733.1(1) CCC
The accused was arrested and held for a bail hearing.
