(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On August 12, 2016 at approximately 8:25 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call regarding an erratic driver in a grey Chevrolet Cobalt on Alma Street in Rockwood, Guelph-Eramosa Township.
Police located the 2016 Chevrolet on Main Street North, parked partially on a curb just prior to it reversing quickly and parking in a marked spot. Officers spoke to the male driver and detected alcohol on his breath and he admitted to consuming alcohol earlier. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. The driver was arrested and transported to a nearby OPP Operation Centre for further testing.
His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
30-year-old Michael ANSELMINI of Guelph has been charged with Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on August 23, 2016 to answer to the charge.
