Methamphetamine Bust, Weapons Seized – Gary ELLIOTT Arrested

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – On Tuesday, January 29, 2019, members from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Huron-Perth Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) and West Region OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence located on Whys Line in Central Huron.

As a result of the execution of the search warrant, police seized methamphetamine, 186 cannabis plants and drug trafficking paraphernalia. The estimated, combined value of the seized controlled substances is approximately $8,640.

In addition to the seized controlled substances, police also seized a prohibited weapon (Nunchuka), three firearms, ammunition, a prohibited device (magazine) and recovered two stolen snowmobiles.

Gary ELLIOTT, 49 years of age from Central Huron has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, Cultivate More Than 4 Cannabis Plants, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 (2 counts), Possession of a Prohibited Weapon, Possession of a Prohibited Device and Possession of Firearms, Ammunition and Explosives While Bound by a Prohibition Order.

He has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for March 11, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
