Methamphetamine Bust – MCPHAIL, MARCHAND & STEPHENS

(HALIBURTON, ON) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Kawartha Lakes/Haliburton Highlands Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) with the assistance of OPP Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU) and K9 unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant on May 9, 2018 at a property on North Shore Road in the Township of Algonquin Highlands.

As a result of the execution of the search warrant police seized cocaine, methamphetamine, cannabis marihuana, a .22 calibre rifle and drug paraphernalia. Three persons are facing charges:

Vern MCPHAIL 59 years of age, of Algonquin Highlands Township:

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking(2 counts) contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA

Daryl MARCHAND 33 years of age, of Dysart et al Township:

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking(2 counts) contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA

Mark STEPHENS, 20 years of age, of Ajax, ON:

Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking(2 counts) contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA

All three accused were held for a Bail Hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay, ON.
